The Electronics Engineering Department of Model Engineering College offers premier professional training with an eye on the modern developments in electronics and information technology. Association of Silicon Innovators for Community (ASIC) is the association of MTech VLSI and Embedded Systems students. It attempts to nurture the technical skills of the students and support the student project initiatives in the campus
The webinar series was conducted based on “Design, verification & implementation of Digital systems in association with ASIC in two days (16/05/2020,17/05/2020). The speakers of the sessions were Mr.Lakshman M working as ASIC Engineer in juniper Networks, Mrs. Amrutha Murali working as senior Engineer in Media Tek, and Mr.Anoopkumar K A working as verification Engineer in Qualcomm.
Dr.Jobymol Jacob was the staff coordinator of the program. Mr.Prabin M P and Mr.Vijeesh Kakkadan were the student coordinators of the program. 67 participants registered for the webinar series. Among which 17 were from colleges other than Model engineering college. The webinar series is conducted using the Google Meet application
THE ART OF WRITING TECHNICAL PAPERS
Model Engineering College on the behalf of ASIC organized a webinar on “The Art of Writing Technical Papers”. The speaker for the session was Dr. J Ajayan, Assistant Professor, SNS College Technology, Coimbatore.
Dr.Jobymol Jacob and Mr.Arun A V were the staff coordinators of the program. Mr.Prabin M P and Ms.Ashmi John were the student coordinators of the program. 66 participants registered for the webinar. The webinar is conducted using the Google Meet application.
Session started by Ms.Ashmi John. She invited Mr.Arun sir to introduce Dr.J Ajayan. Mr.Arun sir gave a brief about the webinar series and introduced Dr. J Ajayan. Dr. J Ajayan began the session by giving a prior introduction to the topic like the need as well as the importance of writing a technical paper.
The session winds up with vote of thanks delivered by Kiran Susan Pavu, Research Scholar, MEC. From this webinar we gained a lot of knowledge regarding the writing of technical papers which will be very useful for us in the upcoming days. The entire session was really very informative
OVERVIEW OF EMBEDDED LINUX,MULTIMEDIA & IoT
Model Engineering College on the behalf of ASIC organized a webinar on an “Overview of Embedded Linux, Multimedia & IOT”. The speakers for the session were Jayakrishnan M Menon, Embedded Software Engineer, Ignitarium Technology Solutions & Geoffrey Koshy George, firmware Engineer, Trimble Inc.
Dr.Jobymol Jacob and Mr.Arun A V were the staff coordinators of the program. Mr.Vijeesh Kakkadan and Ms.Arya A were the student coordinators of the program. 63 participants registered for the webinar. The webinar is conducted using the Google Meet application. The session was started by Jayakrishnan M Menon by giving an introduction to embedded Linux
The session winds up with a vote of thanks delivered by Arya A, MTech student, MEC. From this webinar we gained a lot of knowledge regarding the overview of Embedded Linux, Multimedia & IOT. The entire session was really very informative.

It attempts to nurture the technical skills of the students and support the student project initiatives in the campus.
VLSI is considered one of the fastest-growing cutting-edge technology and embedded products are encountered in our day-to-day life. This program aims to introduce the recent technological advancement in VLSI and Embedded systems and to provide hands-on exposure to VLSI and Embedded system Design.
The placement Training was Conducted in association with ASIC in two days (29/03/2021,30/03/2021). The session was conducted by Mr. Vinu Raghunath, Corporate Trainer & NLP Certified Associate Leadership and Life Coach. The mission of Placement Training was to achieve maximum placement for students through dedication, attitude, and complete involvement. This program also focused to improve students' command of the English language & communication skills.
Sri. Jagadeesh Kumar P Jacob was the staff coordinator of the program. Mr.Prabin M P and Joffin P J were the student coordinators of the program. The Two day Session was summarized by Reviewing and recalling the topics that were coved during the entire session and Mr. Jagadeesh Kumar P (professor, Model Engineering College) has conveyed Thanks to all students, student Coordinators, and Mr. Vinu Raghunath for conducting an informative session and finally, the session was concluded by a vote of Thanks By Amrutha K R (Student S1 VLSI & Embedded System).
